So if you decide to do it the legal way....

I just had gotten ordained online. and in montgomery county all you have to do is sign the marriage licence and your good. But what if in some counties you need to be registered in the marriage licence office? Or if something goes wrong and no ones married? In the end you have to be prepared and ready to go with any type of issues that arrise.

I suggesst before you decide to get ordained, make sure you know how to make it legal.

How I Planned a wedding for well under 500 dollars

Everyone asks me, "how can I plan my wedding for 500 or less?" I tell them it is possible, it just takes some legwork. So heres how I did it for under 500 and in less than 5 months!!

****First think of Guest list! its cheaper to have 10-20 of your closets friends ad family than 150 people you hardly know. And your budget. If your budget is $500 then there is a limit to whom you can invite.****


1. First of all think of your date and where you want to get married. lots of spaces are free or a minimal fee to use. These sites can be simple and elegant to extravegent, We found the Gazebo near my mothers in Philly was free and a closer space near my moms. and its free under 75 guests! And this time of year it is so peaceful with the water and we will have beautiful photo opts. Also look for a dual purpose venue, one you can have both ceremony and reception in. Like a church or a park.

2. Think of the overall mood you want to set. As for me I have found cute silk floral bushes at 1.09 a piece and made 2 bouquets and 2 centerpieces and I still have some left over. Another way to really cut costs is to use silks for your boquets and use candles for centerpieces. I found that thrift stores and places that have flea markets. They are the best. I found diamond like crystals and circle gems for $.50 a package (100 a package) and im using them to hold my centerpieces down and my candles in place in there holders.

3 Think about your dress. Look in thrift stores and consignment shops. I found my dress in the prom section at a DEB plus store. it was a white prom dress!!! It was a halter or can be made into strapless I made mine into strapless. Or you can wear a hand me down, if you like it.

4. Food, this is where I was having issues if we were having more thn 7 people coming. I am maing the food. Hamburger BBQ and Macaroni Salad. There will be deviled eggs and some chips and dip. As well as iced tea, sodas and water. having a dry reception is a good way to go with trying to save money, and if you have to have alcohol and your venue allows it, go for whole sale. Get a keg or a few bottles of wine. Cake you can buy this at the gricery store, or do you have a talent for baking or a friend with that talent? use IT!!

5. Grooms can wear a dressy shirt and slacks. My fiance is wearing jeans and a nice shirt. This is not your traditional wedding.

6. Other Decorations- Such as your ceremony decor. I bought silk rose petals,about 3 bags from the dollar store and bubble wands from the dollar store. This store is savior. I got my plastic utensiles and paper goods. instead of renting linens and other stuff get disposable items. a quicker clean up! I also love thrift stores, if you have to have china and you wedding is small, buy from them. there are plates for 50 cents each,cheaper than renting! if you have larger amount of guests than try to find the best price.

7. Entertainment. Im using a ipod and speakers hooked to my fiance's car and t get all the songs I want Im using sites like itunes and limewire. Limewire is free but there are some songs i cant find so I use itunes.


You can plan the wedding of yur dreams cheap. it just takes legwork and alot of looking. Also if you have a friend who Djs and can give that to you as a gift more power to em. There are ways to get what you want with out spending a fortune.

So the programs where done untill the ribbons to hang em up where messed up AAHHHHH!! And i have to finish my hair trial, and then makeup trial.So yeah but the bubbles are done and someof the favors are finished.. KK

So when you figure it all out, how will you exicute it?

So i have figured out the solution to the heat on wedding day, and the rain. We will have water that is avail to swim in, hence the lake. And we will have plenty of umbrellas and things. Im hopig to get some water guns for fun lol or water balloons. Im fixing the bouquets tomight and the programs, then if I have enough time tonight ill start on the favor boxes and maybe get the ceremony typed. im working on typing the vows.

Im still thinking Ive missed something

The hefty to do list- from 5 pages to 2 pages

So i figured for you guys and for me, I would write out my to do list here. I have had many people ask me what is left to be done. I put a lot off cause you have to do most of it around on or a little before wedding day. SOme of these are taken from my wedding planner checklist and the knot book of lists... and revised. So Here it is:

1. Order my cake from the grocery store- this is saving me a lot of money because we have such a small wedding that we only need a small cake 20 bucks!
2.Rehersal Dinner- This is something that will happen the day of because our venue is in philly and because of certaint cercumstances we have to
3. Finish Program- because we had to move the date I have to white out the dates and put the new one in, and then put them together, but it'll be quick
4. Type up or "Love Story" for guest book
5. Finish Favors- this is one of those have to be doe the night before or few nights before we have chocolate which can melt quick
6.make the timelines and decoration diagrams-So my MOH and me can set up quicker
7.Add the ribbon to the bubbles- ok so these are going in the favor boxes but we are doing them with a small note like blow these in fun or something.
8. Ceremony music, make playlist- Ive gotten the music figured, its just making the playlist. :)
9. Figure type of centerpieces- Ok this is a tuffey cause I have the stuff for three centerpieces i want, and they all are cute, i may do one for each table different :)
10.Type vows- i have them already, well they are in a book I found and they are just what I want to say, but I am making it my own in certaint ways.
11. Make shopping list for food- Im only making simple foods so itll be a small one.
12.Finish Emergancy Bag- I have a cute pink cooler bag that I thought was great. Im putting a sewing kit my meds and water in there along with anything that may come in handy, like my make up for touch ups
13. Purchase favor candies- and other items. I am figurin a fun reception so I may get cards. Im also looking into paper fans
14.Type Cerempny- Ok s this one we dont really need, because its a small ceremony, vows, rings proclamation of marriage and the kiss thats it
15. I have to finish program board- its a cork board where the programs are gonna hang up. Its a plain one with some ribbns

So the (party) gameplan is this...

So we went with the small route and hae 20 people or less at the wedding. Our colors are different shades of pink and blue. We are having the reception at our apartment and the ceremony either in the nierbye park or the back yard here. We are having a BBQ style dinner and plenty of candy! I am unsure of flowers or cake quite yet but we are on the verge of finding out.

The real wedding details!!!

We are getting married July 3, 2010 at OUR MOBILE HOME THAT WE OWN....And having 20 people or so invited. We are going to have a small affair and just have fun. I HAVE FOUND MY DRESS!!! and since mr C is not on here much I can show you guys and gals as soon as I get my camera out a take a photo!! or I may be able to find it!! We are having a makeshift photo booth. I am getting a digital or poloroaid camera. So we can print pictures! I am so excited

I also saw in our new home that we have a living room perfect for a wedding, and a archway near the living room where we are going to have the ceremony. My friend sarah will officiate and I cant wait.

During the excitement of the Wedding Planning process we sometimes forget that the most important part of the Wedding is the magical life to people are spending together after the Ceremony and not the Party itself. So in light of that here are some great ideas to make the Marriage the focus of your wedding and accomplish it in the most inexpensive way possible.

Ceremony
Whether or not you are truly religious you can have a wedding ceremony take place at your local church. Most church fees can be waived for members of the congregation who are in need and truly want to be joined in Holy Matrimony. And even if you had to pay for the rental it is miniscule compared to the cost of a Ceremony site at a Reception Venue. Cost 0-350

Reception
Ask around your friends and families and search for the biggest house or yard and see if you can use it to have your reception at. You can have a buffet, set up a sound system and attach an Ipod or CD player. You don't need to even have too many tables. You can rent everything you need for 100 guests for under $300.

Wedding Cake
Make your own wedding cake. Simply buy an extra amount of frosting. Shop online for a cake topper and buy three different size cakes. Use toothpicks to stabilize each tier or pins. Add a piece of Cardboard over the Stabilizers and put the next size cake on. Use the extra frosting to cover the cardboard and getting some icing to detail the base of each layer. Add the Cake topper you found online. Voila instant Wedding Cake. All for under $100 and if you take your time or have an artistic friend it can look great.

Remember that if you have the money and WANT to spend it a Wedding can be as expensive as you want. If you are on a budget or realize the most important part is the actual Marriage then cut the items you don't need and insert some of these ideas, you will have a great wedding day either way.

Be carefully, that the wedding place you booked, allows music at all time.

The best saving: Change your wedding to outdoor and use the garden of your parents, friend or relatives .When there are not enough chairs and tables available, you have only to hire those. Make sure, that the weather will be beautiful for your special day.

4.Where to get food and drinks?

You have only ask your guests, if the are willing to help you and bring some prepared food to your wedding party.

May be some of your guest are willing to help you, to prepare a nice dinner for you and your guests or your parents are organizing a catering for you.

When your mother in law (ore someone else) is a good baker, ask her to prepare a beautiful three-tier homemade cake. That can be her wedding gift.

You will get your drinks at any supermarket or liqueur shop at low costs. May be some friends or relatives will be a barman for this day and want to service your guests.

If you see the point of saving money for your wedding, hopefully these tips will help you and it is better than starting of a marriage in debt, which creates unneeded stress from the start.

So here is what we have so far

We are planning a very small intimate affair with less than 100 people. we are trying to keep it under 1k but it is hard. so we may be a little over. Our colors are Fuschia and black, with hints of green, silver and white.

I know I want a strapless gown and my hair down or half down. I want my girls is semi long dresses. wearing black with Fuschia sashes I want comfort foods and just a fun time. Ipod reception. More to come
